Mechanical Design Engineer

Overview
Every Precept cell is built around the part it makes, and that starts with mechanical design. You'll design the tooling, fixtures, and mechanical systems that let a robot do precise work, fast, and at production rate.
The role
You'll take systems from concept through CAD to fabrication, designing end-of-arm tooling, fixtures, and structures that perform under real production demands. Your designs are what make a cell fit a specific part and hold tolerance.
What you'll do
Model components and assemblies in CAD, design for manufacturability and fabrication, and work with machinists and assembly teams to bring your designs to life. You'll iterate based on how the hardware actually performs on the floor.
What you'll bring
Strong mechanical design skills, fluency in CAD, and a solid grasp of DFM and tolerancing. You've designed real hardware that got built and ran, and you sweat the details that separate a part that fits from one that fights you.
Bonus points
Experience designing end-of-arm tooling, precision fixtures, or automation hardware. GD&T fluency is a plus.
Why Precept
We build our own lines because the line is the product as much as the part it makes. You'll work on real systems that ship to real factory floors, alongside a team that designs, builds, and operates everything in-house. We build in the U.S., and we build to last.
