Controls Engineer

Overview
A Precept cell only runs unattended because the controls underneath it are right. As a Controls Engineer, you'll own the logic that coordinates robots, tooling, and conveyance into a single system that holds rate without a person standing over it.
The role
You'll design, program, and commission the PLC and controller layer for our automation cells, from I/O architecture through the sequences that keep everything in step. You'll work shoulder to shoulder with robotics, mechanical, and vision engineers to bring a line up and keep it running.
What you'll do
Develop control logic and HMI for production cells, integrate robots and peripheral equipment, and handle safety circuits and interlocks. You'll be on-site for commissioning and ramp-up, tuning the system until it runs clean across every shift.
What you'll bring
Strong experience with industrial controls, PLC programming, motion, and real-time integration, plus a track record of bringing complex equipment online. You're methodical, safety-minded, and comfortable troubleshooting live systems on the floor.
Bonus points
Experience with multiple PLC platforms, robot-to-PLC integration, and industrial networking. Knowledge of functional safety standards is a strong plus.
Why Precept
We build our own lines because the line is the product as much as the part it makes. You'll work on real systems that ship to real factory floors, alongside a team that designs, builds, and operates everything in-house. We build in the U.S., and we build to last.
